Conference “Integration of Refugees in Europe: the role of Universities” at Sapienza University

Sapienza University of Rome is organizing, in collaboration with UNHCR, a Conference “Integration of Refugees in Europe: the role of Universities” which will be held in Rome on April 17, 2018, starting at 9.00 am in the Great Hall of Sapienza. The event is part of the activities of the Erasmus+ project “inHere – Higher Education supporting Refugees in Europe“, coordinated by UNIMED in partnership with the University of Barcelona, EUA and Campus France. The event aims to be an opportunity for debate and discussion, in order to promote the opportunities offered by European universities to facilitate the integration and access of refugees in higher education institutions. The event will be attended by experts, academics and officials from Italian and European universities, active in the promotion of refugee and migrant rights and interested in presenting successful experiences within their universities.

The Conference will be introduced by Eugenio Gaudio, Rector of Sapienza University. Interventions will follow by Felipe Camargo, Representative of the UNHCR Regional Office for Southern Europe; Constance Hermanin, Political Advisor to the Ministry of Justice and member of the Alliance of Leading Universities on Migration (ALUM) and Kostas Moschochoritis, Secretary General of INTERSOS.
