Recognition of prior learning of refugee students: webinar Oct-25 at 4pm (CET)


The event will take place on Wednesday, October 25, at 4 p.m. (CET).
NOKUT and the University of Bari will share their experience in the field.

The University of Barcelona is pleased to invite you to the second webinar of the inHERE project (Higher Education Supporting Refugees in Europe), titled «Recognition of prior learning: obstacles, strategies and ideas to promote the access to higher education for refugee students» taking place on the October 25,2017, at 4:00 p.m. (CET). The webinar speakers will be:

  • Marina Malgina, head of section for the recognition of refugees’ qualification in NOKUT (Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education)
  • Amelia Manuti, responsible for the certification of skills at the CAP of the University of Bari (Italy) and
  • Samir Heco,project assistant at the Council of Europe

The purpose of the webinar is to share the experience of three institutions that are working on the recognition of prior learning of refugee students and discuss about the different situations and strategies that Higher Education Institutions (HEI) are facing throughout the recognition process.

The free event, which will be conducted in English, is addressed to members of University communities (professors, administrative and service staff [AdSS], technical staff…) who are running or are planning to run projects or activities to facilitate the access of refugees to HEI, their social integration, as well as to all the University public interested in these initiatives.
